The new Rifle Paper Co. store looks amazing! Even though it opened more than a month ago, Anna is now sharing some photos of the beautiful space on her blog. She is an amazing illustrator and her business has been taken off as a result. I wish her continued success in the new year!

A friend asked me to lend my design skills to create some tags for their holiday gifts this year – Ashley’s World Famous Chocolate-Covered Peanut Butter Balls! Download the image below here to print your own free gift tags or email me [firstname.lastname@example.org] if you want me to personalize it for you. Yes, I’m feeling quite generous this time of year (but donations are always greatly appreciated – especially if chocolate is involved).

Funny or Die recently released a new spoof on the oddly classic Bing Crosby and David Bowie duet, “Little Drummer Boy / Peace on Earth.” The release also unearthed an older explanation from the Washington Post of how the original duet came to be – and nearly didn’t. It’s one of my favorite holiday songs. We almost named our cat Bing Crosby – because we already had a David Bowie – but settled on Freddie Mercury to complete our duet. “Under Pressure” is perhaps the greatest rock song of all time, after all. Enjoy the weekend!

I lost count of how many sheets of cookies I baked yesterday, but it yielded well over 250 cookies. That said, I didn’t get much sewing done aside from ironing and cutting out the fabric for our family’s Christmas stockings (Papa, Mama, and Baby Bear, of course). I love the colors and fabrics – velvet, linen, and wool – which are remnants from discontinued showroom samples, curtains, and an old dress. After an awesome CrafTuesday session with my sister-in-law helping her make stockings, I’m revved up to get my own done, as well as finish my holiday gift project (I’ll share that later).

All I want for Christmas is… everything and nothing, really. I don’t care if I get anything, but I wouldn’t hate any of these (clockwise form left): Knit Trapper Hat by j.crew; Promises to Keep Cardigan by anthropologie; Concertina Wood Trivet by A+R Store; Duet Tea Infuser & Coffee Press by Miam Miam at Horne; Crosley Revolution USB Turntable at Urban Outfitters; Double Wrapped Sliced Leather Bracelet at Zappos; and Cotton Plaid Metallic Scarf at j.crew.

Scotty Reifsnyder’s Heroes of Folk limited edition series depicts six of America’s true champions. Here’s my fave – Paul Bunyan & Babe the Blue Ox. I loved it so much I created a kid’s room around it [clockwise from top left]: String 10 by Areaware; Naked Line by Mio Culture; Surfin Twin Bed by Ecotots; Draper Stripe Rug by DwellStudio; Bryson by Diane Koss; Soft-Map Quilt by Haptic Lab; and Pop-Up Basket by Mio Culture.
